AI Summary
Is your WordPress email actually working?
WordPress will not tell you, and your host usually cannot. More often than not, the first person to find out that a receipt never arrived is the customer waiting for it.
We’ve just released WP Mail SMTP 4.10, with a brand-new Dashboard, a Setup Checklist, and Email Detective, a free deliverability report for your site!
The Dashboard shows your email health at a glance, the Setup Checklist tracks what is left, and Email Detective shows whether your emails land. The Setup Wizard now verifies your settings before saving, too.
Your Email Health, on the First Screen
Open WP Mail SMTP and the new Dashboard is now the first thing you see.
It shows your email statistics, an overview of your setup, the status of your connection, and the recommended next steps for your site, all on one page.
If your mailer is connected and your emails are going out, you will know at a glance. If something needs attention, the Dashboard tells you what to do next.

For anyone looking after more than one site, this is the Dashboard you open to check a site is healthy, then close.
Finish Setup Without Guessing What’s Left
Connecting a mailer is the first step in setting up WordPress email, not the last, and it is easy to stop there without realizing there is more to do.
The new Setup Checklist page walks you through connecting your mailer, sending a test email, and the rest of your email setup. Your progress is tracked automatically.

You will find it under WP Mail SMTP » Setup Checklist, with a progress bar right there in the menu.
Each step ticks itself off as you complete it, and when the last one is done, you are done!
Find Out Whether Your Emails Really Land
A test email proves your site can send. It does not prove the email arrived in an inbox rather than a spam folder.
Email Detective does. It sends a test email through your primary connection, then emails you a deliverability report.
The report covers three things: whether your domain passes the authentication checks inbox providers run, whether your domain or sending IP appears on any blocklists, and how a real spam filter scores your email.

Go to WP Mail SMTP » Tools, open the Email Detective tab, enter the address for the report, and click Run a Deliverability Test. It usually takes less than a minute!
Email Detective is free to use on every site, and it needs a fully set up primary connection to run.
If you look after client sites, this is the report you forward when they ask whether their email is set up correctly.
A Setup Wizard That Checks Your Work Before Saving
The Setup Wizard now checks your mailer settings with your email provider before it saves them. A mistyped API key or the wrong sending domain can no longer sit there quietly for a week.
Each mailer’s required settings are laid out as numbered steps.
When the test email runs, it reports the exact sending error and names the setting at fault where it can tell. It also shows the fix steps and the domain checker results.
Launch it any time from WP Mail SMTP » Settings » Launch Setup Wizard.
What We’re Building Next
Every feature in 4.10 came from one question we hear every day: “how do I know my email is working?” This release is our answer, and there is more on the way.
All four features are included in the free Lite version of WP Mail SMTP as well as WP Mail SMTP Pro.
Update to WP Mail SMTP 4.10 today, open your new Dashboard, and run Email Detective on your site! Then tell us what you think.
Until the next update, enjoy knowing exactly where your email stands!
